Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Description

Kyle Clarke from Robert Half is working with a Buffalo client of his that has been growing. This organization is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller with a background in commercial real estate to oversee financial operations and ensure accurate reporting across their portfolio. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is comfortable managing both daily accounting functions and higher-level financial oversight.

Requirements

The Controller will ensure the integrity of financial information, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and provide strategic financial insights to support ownership and leadership decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

+ Oversee all general ledger activity and monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes

+ Prepare and review property-level financial statements and consolidated reporting

+ Manage cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis

+ Ensure accurate reconciliations, tenant billings, and lease administration accounting

+ Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable functions

+ Coordinate annual audits and work closely with external accountants and tax advisors

+ Monitor internal controls and implement process improvements where needed

+ Ensure compliance and applicable real estate accounting standards

+ Partner with asset management and property management teams to provide financial insight and operational support

+ Assist with acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and due diligence activities

Requirements Of the Position

+ Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager or Controller experience in a commercial real estate environment is a must.

+ Excel and CAM Reconciliation is required.

+ Leadership experience is preferred.
