Overview
Assistant Professor of Economics & Finance — Buffalo, NY
Responsibilities- Teach three finance courses per semester at the undergraduate and MBA levels in-person and hybrid formats.
- Conduct scholarly research in corporate finance and related fields that leads to publication in peer-reviewed journals consistent with AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) standards.
- Demonstrate effective teaching and provide comprehensive advising and mentoring of students, encompassing both academic progress and career development.
- Develop and revise curricula, course content, and instructional methods to enhance learning outcomes.
- Contribute to the department, school, and university through service activities such as curriculum development, assessment, and committee participation.
- Design and deliver finance courses in multiple instructional modalities, including traditional in-person, hybrid, and online formats.
- Conduct empirical finance research in corporate finance, financial markets, or related fields using large-scale financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg Terminal, Capital IQ).
- Perform advanced statistical and econometric analysis utilizing Stata, R, SAS, and Python.
- Publish working papers with a focus on corporate finance.
- Ph.D in Finance or closely related field.
- Experience teaching college-level finance courses including courses in corporate finance and investments; designing and delivering finance courses in multiple instructional modalities, including traditional in-person and online formats.
- Experience conducting empirical finance research in corporate finance, financial markets, or related fields using large-scale financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg Terminal, Capital IQ).
- Proficiency in advanced statistical and econometric analysis utilizing Stata, R, SAS, and Python.
- Demonstrated record of academic scholarship including drafting working papers with a focus on corporate finance.
Salary: $110,000 per year
