We’re looking for a Construction Accounting Manager to lead financial oversight across multiple active construction projects. This role partners closely with Project Managers and senior leadership to drive cost control, budget integrity, and accurate reporting throughout the full project lifecycle.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Cost Setup & Budget Management
- Set up projects by accounting category (Site, Shell, Interior, etc.)
- Establish and document budget and cost control procedures
- Ensure budgets are properly entered and maintained in MRI
- Process approved budget revisions and reallocations
Cost Oversight & Analysis
- Review and approve POs, COs, and contracts for coding accuracy and budget alignment
- Partner with cost segregation teams to ensure proper book and tax treatment
- Participate in PO/CO review meetings with senior leadership
- Perform variance analysis and collaborate with construction teams to resolve discrepancies
Job Cost Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain detailed job cost ledgers
- Track expenditures against budgets throughout the project lifecycle
- Prepare and distribute financial summaries and job cost reports
Billing & Revenue Tracking
- Manage tenant billables, deposits, and extra work requests
- Coordinate with Billing to ensure timely and accurate invoicing
- Monitor lien waivers and releases for compliance
- Attend job meetings to stay ahead of financial risks
- Advise Project Managers on financial impact of decisions
Audit & Compliance
- Prepare documentation for internal and external audits
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, contracts, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with project closeouts and reconciliations
- 5+ years of construction accounting experience
- Strong project-level cost tracking and analysis background
- Proficiency in MRI, Procore, or similar construction accounting software
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects without missing a detail
