About the Job:Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant (Cost Accounting / FP&A) to support financial planning, cost analysis, and reporting activities across the organization. This position will play a key role in analyzing operational costs, maintaining financial data, supporting budgeting and forecasting efforts, and helping leadership better understand financial performance trends.
This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys both hands‑on accounting work and analytical finance responsibilities within a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and analyze cost accounting records related to operations, materials, and services
- Prepare cost analyses, reporting packages, and inventory-related reporting
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities tied to cost accounting functions
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
- Investigate financial variances and help identify underlying cost drivers and trends
- Assist with management reporting and dashboard preparation
Maintain financial data within reporting and planning systems - Partner cross-functionally with operational and finance teams to improve reporting accuracy and cost visibility
- Analyze historical spending patterns and support financial decision‑making initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- 3-5+ years of accounting or finance experience with exposure to cost accounting, reconciliations, budgeting, or variance analysis
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls
- Advanced Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, reporting, and data analysis
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Experience with forecasting or financial planning systems such as Oracle Hyperion is preferred
- Exposure to BI/reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau is preferred
