Banking Services Operations Associate III - Mortgage & Maintenance

Overview

Completes basic mortgage payment processing and special loans duties and basic research tasks.

• Complete routine data entry, system updates and validation related to mortgage payments, payoffs and special product maintenance.
• Complete standardized document review and validation related to mortgage notes, modifications and ACH (Automated Clearing House) agreements.
• Complete basic documentation preparation related to mortgage loan modification documents.
• Respond to or initiate standard requests on exception payment applications or mortgage document term research.
• Complete mid-level complexity research into maintenance completed, payments and payoffs.
• Complete entry-level reconciliations of system maintenance and cash work as required by assigned area.
• Complete routine or standardized exception processing of payments, payoffs and ARM (Adjustable Rate Mortgage) criteria outside current system logic.
• Maintain contact with internal business partners and external customers as required in completing assigned responsibilities.
• Work with, assist, and complete quality control of offshore vendors who are processing work on behalf of the Bank.
• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

The jobholder may work in Mortgage Payments, Payoffs or Special Products and is responsible for entry-level tasks noted above.

• Associates’ degree, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 2 years’ higher education and/or work experience.
• Proven internal and external customer service experience.
• Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent spreadsheet and word processing software.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

• Minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience.
