Overview
As part of the first line of defense, the Commercial Credit Quality Monitoring Officer independently performs assessments and monitoring of credit risk, leveraging a strong understanding of credit policies, risk rating guidance, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform quality reviews on individual loans and targeted portfolios.
- Independently complete reviews, provide feedback according to operational procedures and timelines.
- Review and validate the accuracy of individual risk ratings, completeness of the credit file, and adherence to policies.
- Ensure underwriting and credit analyses are sound and appropriately justify or mitigate credit risk.
- Analyze financial data, collateral documentation, and other credit monitoring functions to assess borrower cash flow and repayment ability.
- Prepare written documentation and reports; elevate material findings to the Commercial Credit Quality Monitoring Manager.
- Assist with special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain adherence to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.
- Identify risk-related issues and coordinate escalation to management.
- Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points and regulator issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in commercial credit, public accounting, financial statement preparation/analysis, or related financial analysis.
- If lacking a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years of higher education and work experience, including at least 2 years’ experience in commercial credit, public accounting, financial statement preparation/analysis, or related financial analysis.
- Working knowledge of credit risk management techniques, credit regulatory guidance, and bank credit administration.
- Proficient in spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, and database software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Experience with Capital IQ, Fact Set, and Bloomberg.
Annual salary range: $62,200.00 - $ (USD).
