The Commercial Bank internship will provide an experience to understand the Commercial Banking landscape and how the various line of business functions collaborate to provide clients/prospects with the insights and solutions they need to operate their business more effectively.

What does our Internship Program offer?

Key's Enterprise Internship is a 10.5-week program that provides meaningful work that matters, offers feedback and coaching, and creates engaging events and conversations that will spark excitement and interest in bringing one's full-time career to Key.

Interns are involved in a host of line of business specific projects that directly impact and benefit Key's business and strategic pillars. The program includes networking with Key teammates across all levels of the organization, a series of Learning Labs where internal and external speakers provide insight on Key's competitive landscape, financial wellness, and professional development best practices, and an assigned mentor who shares knowledge, experience, and advice.

About the Internship

As an intern, you will gain valuable experience by contributing to a variety of projects and collaborating closely with seasoned professionals. This role offers a focus on credit/lending (relationship management) specifically within the Buffalo Market. You will engage directly with senior-level bankers and Commercial Analysts, providing hands-on exposure to the Commercial Lending business. You will receive exposure to various segments within the Commercial Bank, as well.

Job Responsibilities

• Learn to analyze commercial loan requests via loan requests including but not limited to reviewing financial statement spreads; calculation of key financial ratios; analysis of the borrowers' business and financial integrity
• Work closely with designated teams to ensure accuracy of credit system data.
• Work with clients to ensure timely collection of financial statements needed to monitor performance
• Work with support partners to perform system maintenance to ensure proper portfolio assignments and with Relationship Managers to ensure accurate pipeline activities within Salesforce
• Complete a Capstone Project leveraging learnings from the Internship to include credit, business analytics, and client facing deliverables / pitches
• Perform other duties as necessary to support the goals and objectives of the relationship management teams

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least two years toward a four-year, undergraduate degree program with coursework in finance, accounting, economics and/or data science (preferred) with an anticipated graduation in or before May of 2028
• Outstanding academic achievement (minimum undergraduate 3.3 GPA)
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork from past work experience and/or extracurricular activities
• Strong quantitative and critical thinking abilities
• Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
• Outstanding interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in Excel and Power Point
• Professional conduct

Compensation and Benefits

This position is eligible to earn an hourly rate of $23 per hour. Compensation also includes a $2,000 Summer Internship Sign-on Bonus.

Key Bank's Internship and Analyst positions are not eligible for employment visa sponsorship (e.g., H-1B visa). This includes, for example, situations where a candidate may have temporary work authorization while enrolled in school or upon graduation (e.g., CPT, OPT) but would need H-1B visa sponsorship within a few years of employment in order to maintain employment eligibility.

This position is compensated at a fixed rate of $23 hourly and is eligible to receive a $2,000 sign-on bonus.
