Summary

Works at the direction of the Clinical Pharmacist Specialists in performing daily activities to support clinical pharmacy initiatives which include but are not limited to: direct patient care, Oral Chemotherapy Program, Medication Orders Subcommittee (MOS), transitions of care, medication safety, and quality improvement projects as deemed appropriate by Pharmacy Leadership. Serves in both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy settings and provides a wide range of medication management and administrative services to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the professional staff.

Facilitates and implements essential clinical pharmacy processes to ensure the safe and appropriate use of medications throughout the institution. Ensures high standards of care by acting as a liaison between patients and clinical staff to optimize clinical pharmacy services by eliminating communication gaps and decreasing the administrative responsibilities performed by the Clinical Pharmacy Specialists thus permitting more time for direct patient care.

The starting salary for this position is $56,506 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

Certification Requirement
  • National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT from National Health career Association (NHA) required.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with NYS Office of the Professions, State Education Department.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time Pharmacy Technician experience in a hospital, healthcare organization, chemo‑infusion, specialty pharmacy, insurance company or related field.

Note
  • Incumbents must maintain the required New York State registration and national certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) as a condition of continued employment.
  • Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
