Overview
Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences in the School of Public Health and Health Professions is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Clinical Nutrition Program Director to join our faculty as a full-time, 12-month Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Instructor. This leadership role offers an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of clinical nutrition education, strengthen program excellence, and foster meaningful collaboration across academic and clinical settings.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing a high-impact program that prepares the next generation of nutrition professionals.
- Drive student success through strategic recruitment, retention initiatives, and a supportive, student-centered program culture.
- Serve as an ambassador for the program, representing it at open houses, outreach events, and professional gatherings to enhance visibility and engagement.
- Deliver high quality instruction by teaching courses within the program and contributing to an enriching academic experience.
- Lead curriculum innovation through ongoing development, assessment, and program review to ensure relevance, rigor, and alignment with emerging trends in the field.
- Ensure program excellence and compliance by maintaining accreditation standards through ACEND and supporting continuous quality improvement.
- Contribute to the broader academic community through service at the Department, School, University, and professional levels.
The Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences is a dynamic, research-driven academic unit within the School of Public Health & Health Professions. Faculty and students collaborate across well-established research programs supported by excellent facilities and a wide range of academic offerings—from undergraduate degrees in Exercise and Nutritional Sciences to advanced MS and PhD programs. The Department offers a BS in Exercise Science, a BS in Nutritional Sciences, a BS/MS in Exercise Nutrition, an MS in Clinical Nutrition leading to the Registered Dietitian credential, an MS degree in Athletic Training, MS degrees in Nutrition and Exercise Science and PhD degrees in Exercise Science and Nutrition.
A signature feature of the department is the Center for Research and Education in Special Environments (CRESE), a state-of-the-art facility that enables cutting-edge research at altitude, underwater, and in extreme temperatures.
