Ultrasound Technologist – Full Time
Great Lakes Medical Imaging (GLMI) reports to:
Ultrasound Manager. Status:
Non-Exempt. Pay Range: $30–$45 per hour. No Call Requirement.
Great Lakes Medical Imaging is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Ultrasound Technologist to join our Ultrasound team. This role provides high-quality ultrasound imaging while supporting an exceptional patient experience throughout each visit. Effective communication, teamwork, and a commitment to patient-centered care are essential to success in this role.

- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations using equipment from various manufacturers
- Select appropriate technical factors tailored to each patient and exam
- Assist radiologists with semi-invasive ultrasound procedures
- Prepare and position patients while ensuring comfort, safety, and modesty
- Verify accuracy of physician orders and review prior imaging
- Evaluate images for quality, clarity, and diagnostic accuracy
- Enter and maintain accurate patient and exam data in RIS/PACS systems
- Provide detailed written and verbal exam information to radiologists
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Clean and disinfect transducers after each exam, including high-level disinfection of endovaginal probes
- Monitor and maintain disinfectant solutions per protocol
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Restock supplies and maintain ordering lists
- Assist PSR and administrative staff as needed
- Support fellow technologists when available
- Attend required staff meetings and training sessions
- Work overtime as needed
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and sonographic techniques
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including RIS/PACS and Google-based programs
- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Effective problem-solving abilities
- Associate's Degree (AAS) with completion of an accredited Ultrasound program or Bachelor's Degree in Ultrasound
- RDMS and RVT certifications required
- Valid CPR/BLS certification
- Two years of prior ultrasound experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use a computer for extended periods
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients in person and by phone
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Ability to make decisions and think quickly
