Summary: The System Director, Laboratory Services is responsible for the overall system-wide coordination and operational oversight, integration, growth, and advancement of Laboratory Services. In keeping with the system goals of achieving and maintaining quality services with standards of excellence working with the respective service leaders and Ministries, is responsible for leading and developing Laboratory Services in accordance with the Catholic Health (CH) Strategic Plan.
The System Director, Laboratory Services will work collaboratively with leadership and associates across CH Care Delivery and Shared Services Ministries in addition to the Medical Director of Pathology Services and other CH Medical Leadership to effectively maximize efficiency of operational and clinical components of patient care. The system director, laboratory services is responsible for ensuring the department goals align with, and support, the strategic plan for the organization.
The System Director, Laboratory Services will be responsible for the development of the Laboratory Services annual Operating Plan and its implementation encompassing the defined operational, clinical (quality) and financial components. Incumbent maintains sound relations among various groups, including the clinical, support staffs, both intra-lab and ancillary services relative to laboratory functions. The system director, laboratory services is responsible for the departmental financial performance, adherence to regulatory requirements, and evolving the care delivery model for laboratory services aligns with system needs and proactively reacts to changes in the industry.
Education
- Bachelors degree in Medical Technology and/or other appropriate discipline from an accredited College or University
- MBA or MHA required
- NYS Licensure required
- Minimum of ten (10) years of clinical laboratory work experience
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive supervisory experience
