Job Description

VP Perioperative Services and Gates Vascular Institute (GVI) provides executive leadership for systemwide perioperative performance across Kaleida Health, ensuring alignment, quality, access, operational efficiency, surgical throughput, and standardized best practices across all procedural and surgical environments. In collaboration with Service Line Dyads and site leadership, the VP drives consistent performance improvement, high reliability, and integration of perioperative processes across the enterprise.

In addition, the VP serves as the senior operational executive for BGMC/GVI, overseeing all surgical, procedural, and perioperative services at the institute. This includes strategic and operational leadership of BGMC/GVI's advanced cardiac, neurovascular, structural heart, and complex surgical programs; responsibility for program development and growth; and accountability for patient experience, multidisciplinary coordination, financial stewardship, and innovation within BGMC/GVI's Centers of Excellence.

The VP ensures that BGMC/GVI operations reflect the highest standards of clinical excellence while remaining aligned with enterprise perioperative strategies and performance expectations.

Education And Credentials

Bachelor's degree in Business, Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field required. Master's degree in Business, Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field required. RN licensure required upon hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire. NE-BC, NEA-BC, CENP, CNOR, CSSM, CPAN, CAPA, CNAMB preferred.

Experience

10+ years of experience in progressive leadership in perioperative, surgical, or procedural operations with demonstrated success in large, complex hospital or academic medical center operations. Proven ability to improve quality, access, throughput, financial performance, and operational efficiency. Experience managing multi-million dollar operating and capital budgets. Strong history of physician collaboration and multidisciplinary leadership within high acuity environments required. 1 year of experience in academic medical centers or Level 1 trauma programs preferred.

1 year of experience with ABA Burn Center Verification preferred. 1 year of experience designing, opening or modernizing OR's procedural labs, ASCs, or other major surgical facilities preferred.
