Williamsville Suburban, a skilled nursing facility located in Williamsville, New York is looking for a Nursing Scheduler to join its team of professionals. The Nursing Scheduler will coordinate the staffing and scheduling of the Nursing Department utilizing the facilities computerized scheduling program. The Nursing Scheduler will be responsible for obtaining, managing and tracking per diem schedules in order to ensure shift coverage as well as their adherence to the monthly shift and holiday requirements as dictated by the union contract and facility needs.
The successful candidate will track call-outs, employee absences and notifying the Administrator of any attendance issues. In addition, the scheduler will coordinate staffing needs with outside staffing agencies when necessary. The Nursing Scheduler is expected to work with the Human Resources department to maintain current contact information on all staff and ensure all employees are complying with employment procedures related to attendance.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating nursing and medical staff six- week calendars, meeting with the Administrator and Directors of Nursing to finalize approval and entering the final schedule into the online scheduling system
- Responsible for checking the call-out line reports and works to secure coverage for the vacancy
- Maintaining the Nursing and Medical staff mandated schedules per the Union Contract
- Maintaining all spreadsheets related to staffing i.e. call-outs and employee absences
- Contacting staff to maintain compliance for annual mandatory trainings, as well as PPD, CPR, Flu, etc.,
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited high school or GED preferred
- At least 1 year of staffing experience in an in-patient setting is required
- Experience in a long-term care setting highly desirable
- Prior experience with Smartlynx is preferred, but willing to train
- Ability to work independently or part of a group
- Effectively communicate with others
