Talent Manager, Employee Relations
Description
In this role, you’ll serve as the primary HR Generalist for an assigned territory of locations and support leaders and employees with high-impact, hands‑on HR guidance that keeps our workplaces compliant, engaged, and mission‑driven.
This is a mid-level HR role. The right candidate brings professional maturity, confidence delivering difficult conversations, and experience coaching managers through accountability, feedback, and people‑management challenges.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for your assigned territory; partner with managers to align HR support with operational goals.
- Build strong relationships with frontline leaders, providing day‑to‑day guidance and coaching on HR practices and policy interpretation.
- Lead employee relations matters, including investigations; advise on performance management, corrective action, and documentation.
- Administer HRIS and maintain accurate personnel records; support time & attendance integrity and compliance tracking.
- Oversee leave management (ADA, FMLA, PFL, disability, workers’ compensation) and all related documentation.
- Support territory hiring by screening candidates and coordinating onsite interviews with hiring managers.
- Administer separations (exit interviews, separation letters, COBRA) and respond to unemployment claims.

What You Bring (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in HR/Business or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered); 3+ years of progressive HR experience required. SHRM-CP/PHR a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and New York State employment requirements and HR best practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS experience required (UKG strongly preferred); able to run HRIS reports and analyze data.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of computer work; ability to access and navigate departments across our facilities; occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.
- This role is fully in‑person and based in our Buffalo office.
- Occasional local travel to work sites. Must have active NYS Driver's License and reliable transportation.
Compensation
- $58,000 to $65,000 annually and is commensurate with experience.
