Salary Range: $70,000.00 To $73,000.00 Annually

Overview

Catholic Charities of Buffalo is seeking a full-time Manager of Recruitment & Engagement to lead the recruitment and engagement efforts by developing and implementing strategic recruitment, retention, and workforce engagement initiatives. Working closely with agency leadership, the Manager of Recruitment & Engagement manages the recruitment function of exempt and non-exempt employees, builds strong talent pipelines, enhances the agency’s employer brand, and fosters meaningful partnerships within the community.

This position also supports onboarding and employee engagement programs that promote a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven workplace culture while aligning workforce strategies with organizational goals and staffing needs.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage full-cycle recruitment and talent acquisition activities for exempt and non-exempt positions across the agency.
  • Partner with operational leaders and hiring managers to assess workforce needs, develop staffing strategies, and build strong talent pipelines through traditional and innovative sourcing methods.
  • Create and maintain job descriptions, job postings, and recruitment marketing content, including social media campaigns and other outreach initiatives that promote Catholic Charities of Buffalo as an employer of choice.
  • Represent the agency at career fairs, networking events, educational institutions, and community outreach opportunities to enhance visibility and attract qualified candidates.
  • Maintain and optimize recruitment systems, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), processes, and workflows to improve efficiency, candidate experience, and hiring outcomes.
  • Oversee employment activities, including background checks, fingerprinting, other employment verification requirements and new hire orientation.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on recruitment metrics and workforce data, including time-to-fill, source effectiveness, candidate pipeline activity, and other key performance indicators.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement and retention initiatives, including onboarding support, stay interviews, exit interviews, the Service Award Program, and the New Hire Mentoring Program.
  • Foster positive working relationships with employees and leaders to promote collaboration, trust, recognition, professional growth, and employee satisfaction.
  • Support diversity, equity, inclusion, and equal employment opportunity initiatives while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources leadership and agency leaders on workforce planning, organizational growth, and other strategic talent initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of agency operations and strategic objectives.
Qualifications
  • Degree and/or professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive Human Resources and talent acquisition experience, including recruitment of exempt and non-exempt positions; experience in nonprofit, social services, healthcare, or human services environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing recruitment strategies, sourcing initiatives, talent acquisition programs, and workforce engagement efforts.
  • Strong working knowledge of Human Resources principles, hiring best practices, and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
