Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Technical Engineer III to serve as a subject matter expert across key infrastructure and security technologies. This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer who thrives in designing, implementing, and optimizing complex enterprise solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Location: Buffalo, NY
Duration: 12 months
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and support enterprise infrastructure and security solutions
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into technical solutions
- Lead system architecture, infrastructure design, and implementation efforts
- Manage and coordinate vendor resources and third-party technologies
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and procedures
- Mentor junior engineers and review technical deliverables
- Ensure compliance with risk, regulatory, and internal control standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across systems and platforms
- Active Directory administration
- Security tools:
Proxy, SIEM, Entra, DLP, Firewalls - Incident and request management
- Automation tools and scripting
- Server/client and virtual infrastructure technologies
- 6+ years of combined education and/or experience in systems design, engineering, or architecture
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in infrastructure design, system architecture, or application development
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise technologies and system integrations
- Strong communication, facilitation, and influencing skills
- Experience in financial services or regulated environments
- Work on complex, enterprise-scale systems
- Collaborate with experienced engineering and leadership teams
- Opportunity to influence technical direction and mentor others
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
