Mainframe Storage Consultant

We are currently seeking a Mainframe Storage Consultant to join our team in the United States (US). The role involves managing disk space on the mainframe, including installation, removal, upgrade, update, restore, provision of storage, among other tasks.

• Day‑to‑day support: perform health checks, monitor the incident queue, and resolve problems.
• Raise change requests and implement additional capacity.
• Configure storage, install and maintain software, and monitor and sustain storage in databases, VSAM files, work and sort space.
• Perform CA Disk Sysprog and disk space management activities such as installation, testing, evaluation, and assignment of disk space.
• Plan z/OS hardware, IODF, LPAR, HMC configuration and related activities.
• Administer and execute backup, recovery, disaster recovery and related capabilities.
• Install, maintain, and upgrade any product in a mainframe z/OS environment using SMP/E and zOSMF.
• Manage volume space and capacity and perform disaster recovery drills as needed.
• Coordinate across support teams, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Use mainframe automation tools for disk and storage management (e.g., Netview, SA, CA‑OPS).
• Automate manual interventions in the storage infrastructure.
• Provide zSeries storage hardware/software design, configuration, implementation and support.

• Mainframe storage monitoring tool expertise.

• 10+ years of experience with a combination of the following:
• IBM DS8K disk hardware installation and upgrade, DSCLI knowledge, GDPS, PPRC Metro, DFHSM / DFDSS / ICKDSF, and/or z/OS IODF.
• EMC DLM virtual tape hardware installation and upgrade, and/or DLM configuration.
• CA1, Vantage, and/or Disk skill set.
• TS7720 and DS8870 storage support, Grid and PPRC, SMS, and/or RMM customization.

• Broadcomm (Brocade) DCX or FICON.

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this role is $106,575–$177,625 in the USA. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as location, experience, technical skills and other qualifications. The position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
