Position OverviewThe Global Technical Support Informatics Applications Engineer provides remote and on‑site field system support for hardware, software applications, and networking to customers and field personnel. The role reports to the Global Informatics Manager and is fully remote, but residency in the western half of the United States is required.
Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership across functions to identify root causes and resolve challenging issues for Informatics customers across North America.
- Manage escalation processes and action planning to ensure compliance with standard work, effective teamwork, and rapid resolution of middleware product and networking issues in partnership with frontline support resources.
- Investigate complex problems through remote data stream collection and in-depth analysis, guiding collaborative resolution with account network, LIS and security personnel in virtual server environments hosting Beckman Coulter middleware solutions.
- Coach and mentor field engineers and applications associates through the repair process of individual workstations, servers, and analyzer connection hardware, following established procedures that drive positive customer experience.
- Apply and further develop knowledge of cloud‑based solution architecture, deployment and troubleshooting in collaboration with global technical support teams.
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience supporting laboratory middleware.
- Experience with Data Innovations, EPIC Beaker, Cerner Oracle Health or Life Science LIS (or similar).
- Strong computer networking and/or LIS implementation/development experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel up to 25% – 75% within North America, including overnight trips, at short notice.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 50 lb; other physical requirements as necessary.
- Diagnostics Laboratory Informatics and Automation applications experience.
- Familiarity with Standard Laboratory Practices, including quality control, record keeping, and regulatory requirements.
The annual salary range for this role is $120,000–$135,000. This range is the best estimate of possible compensation and may be modified in the future. The position is eligible for bonus/incentive pay. Benefits include paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and a 401(k) plan for eligible employees.
