Job Description

The Business Systems Analyst is a critical role in the delivery of products for Lifetime Healthcare Companies. The analyst collaborates with stakeholders throughout the organization to understand business objectives and define IT system requirements and specifications for the implementation of IT system solutions. The analyst serves as the primary interface between the business and IT teams to gather, document, and analyze all levels of requirements, emphasizing the delivery of functional and non‑functional requirements to solution architects and IT teams.

In collaboration with stakeholders, the analyst sets the scope for work items.

Essential Accountabilities
  • Collaborates with all stakeholders to elicit, analyze, specify, and gather business, stakeholder, and solution requirements, including assisting with the creation of documented requirements using the organization’s methodology.
  • Creates functional and non‑functional requirements based on stakeholder requirements.
  • Develops an understanding of the assigned business, application, and data domain.
  • Conducts or participates in peer reviews of business, stakeholder, and solution requirements.
  • Defines scope as it flows from business stakeholders to development teams in an iterative release process.
  • Demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companies’ mission and values and adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct.
  • Maintains a high regard for group, member, and agency privacy in accordance with corporate privacy policies and procedures.
  • Represents reliable attendance expectations.
  • Performs other functions as assigned by management.
Level II – Additional Accountabilities
  • Conducts research and systems analysis required to deliver IT system related requirements, including data and cloud technologies.
  • Proactively manages changes in scope, identifies potential risks, and works with management and the development team to create recovery plans.
  • Works with business stakeholders to identify the minimal viable product (MVP).
Level III – Additional Accountabilities
  • Assesses requirements to provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Mentors and trains other Business Systems Analysts I/II in various practices and products.
  • Is considered a subject matter expert in the assigned business area and data domain.
  • Leads complex projects and work efforts to obtain requirements that ensure solutions support the business, enterprise, and data strategies.
Level IV – Additional Accountabilities
  • Leads peer reviews with other Business Systems Analysts to assess quality and completeness of requirements.
  • Works collaboratively across the organization to identify potential areas for process or implementation improvements.
  • Directly negotiates with and acts as a liaison with IT resources, business stakeholders, and external vendors/partners; often serves as a project spokesperson.
  • Is considered a subject matter expert across many business areas and data domains.
  • Demonstrates leadership in creating requirements while working with multiple levels of management and architects across the enterprise.
Minimum Qualifications Level I
  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; or three (3) years of relevant work experience.
  • Basic understanding of business flow diagramming tools such as data flow, UML or capability matrices.
  • Basic data and systems analytics skills.
  • Basic experience writing clear, concise, well‑organized requirements or user stories.
  • Basic understanding of waterfall or agile scrum methodologies; familiarity with automated testing preferred.
  • Intermediate communication skills: oral presentations, writing, facilitation, elicitation, negotiation, active listening, and positive team dynamics.
  • Advanced MS Office knowledge.
  • Ability to prioritize work components and define objectives effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical approach to providing solutions at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Level II
  • All Level I qualifications.
