Brief Job Description
This position is for a system analyst with a strong focus on cloud architecture design, implementation, administration, and integration across public cloud and on‑premises environments. The role partners with cross‑functional teams to drive cloud adoption, optimize infrastructure, and align solutions with business goals. Responsibilities include designing end‑to‑end cloud solutions, leading cloud migration initiatives, and establishing cloud governance, security, compliance, and Cloud Center of Excellence practices.
The position also provides system administration and technical support across Linux, Windows, network, and hypervisor platforms for member campuses. Additionally, the role offers technical leadership, mentorship, and training while supporting senior management in system planning and standards development. Team lead supervisory duties and support of senior management in system planning and decision‑making are also required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field.
- Progressive relevant professional work experience, with significant hands‑on experience in Information Technology.
- Experience designing, implementing, and operating cloud environments using AWS, Azure, or other public cloud providers, along with operating system deployment and administration.
- Proven experience in network design, deployment, administration, and operations, as well as general systems operations and support.
- Technical support experience with the ability to work various shifts to support a 24×7 operational environment.
- Strong presentation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience supervising a team.
- Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure:
Experience with core and non-core cloud services across major providers (Azure, AWS, GCP, Oracle), including compute, storage, networking, identity, security, Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Arc, and hybrid connectivity. - Enterprise & WAN Networking:
Proven experience deploying and managing enterprise networks (firewalls, routers, switches, ACLs) and wide‑area networks using BGP. - Hybrid Connectivity & Traffic Management:
Familiarity with load balancers, DNS, VPNs, Azure Express Route, AWS Direct Connect, and hybrid networking architectures. - Security & Compliance Architecture:
Ability to design and operate secure environments using IAM, encryption (at rest/in transit), threat detection platforms, compliance frameworks (ISO, SOC2, HIPAA), and participation in formal security programs. - Systems & Platform Administration:
Strong working knowledge of Windows services (IIS, Active Directory, DNS) and UNIX / Linux services (web, mail, SSH, NFS), including virtualization platforms such as ESXi, Hyper‑V, and Azure Local. - Automation, IaC & VMware Ecosystem:
Experience with infrastructure automation and IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, Power Shell, Bash, PowerCLI, cloud‑native automation) and professional deployment/management of VMware products (Horizon, Workspace ONE, vRealize suite). - IT Service Management & Education
Experience:
Demonstrated experience with ITIL and ITSM / ITOM frameworks and tools, with prior work experience in an educational environment.
