OPS/MVS System Automation Engineer

Buffalo, New York (US-NY), United States (US). The role supports a hybrid work environment.

We are currently seeking a skilled Mainframe System Automation specialist to join our global team focused on the design and implementation of monitoring and automation solutions. The team is responsible for defining and implementing strategy for critical products across the organization, ensuring their availability, recoverability, and security. Broad experience on IBMz and the Broadcom OPS/MVS product is essential for advising users on best solutions.

• Administer and support the Mainframe System Automation.
• Deliver automation at the required quality and pace, supporting business demands.
• Ensure delivery to the customer while adhering to global standards and best practice.
• Participate in organizational efficiency initiatives and analyze to drive automation solutions.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver solutions as agreed.

• 5+ years of experience in Mainframe systems, especially in System Automation. Experience with OPS/MVS or IBM SA/Net View is a benefit.
• Proficient in coding/scripting using the REXX programming language.
• Understanding of Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
• Experience providing production support and troubleshooting for IBMz Mainframe systems, meeting agreed deadlines.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written English skills.
• Optional knowledge of Confluence, Jira, and Git Hub.

Starting hourly range: $90 - $100 per hour
. Compensation may vary based on location, experience, and skills.
