Hamberger & Weiss LLP is a leading New York workers’ compensation defense firm with more than 30 years of experience representing employers and insurance carriers statewide. We are seeking motivated associate attorneys admitted to practice in New York to join our growing litigation practice.
This is an opportunity for attorneys who want hands‑on courtroom experience, meaningful client interaction, and structured professional growth in a respected defense firm.
Title:Associate Attorney Practice Areas:
Workers' Compensation & Insurance Defense What You’ll Do
- Appear regularly at hearings and proceedings before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board
- Participate in depositions, trials, and appellate matters, including hands‑on litigation experience within your first year
- Manage direct communication with clients, claims professionals, and opposing counsel
- Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and legal memoranda on workers’ compensation insurance defense issues
- Develop practical litigation skills with guidance and mentorship from experienced partners
We are intentional about developing our associates. You will work closely with experienced attorneys who provide hands‑on mentorship, strategic guidance, and regular feedback. Our goal is to help associates build confidence, judgment, and litigation proficiency through real responsibility—not just observation.

Benefits- Salary range: $75,000–$110,000, commensurate experience
