The Materials Supervisor plans, coordinates, controls, and directs activities involving the requisitioning of Buffalo & Rubber products, and maintains effective inventory control records and system procedures within Habasit America's Materials Management department in Buffalo, NY. This role partners with the Materials Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate purchasing, planning, and inventory control in support of customer delivery commitments.

- Support the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company.
- Observe applicable safety, health, and environmental rules and guidelines, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Adhere to company operating procedures, benefit rules, employment policies, and safety policies.
- Analyze sales history and set appropriate line‑item forecasts, safety stocks, and min/max inventory levels.
- Utilize MRP and ERP‑generated reports to purchase material in support of forecasts, min/max levels, and safety stock levels for long lead‑time and variable lead‑time products.
- Maintain MRP parameters within the ERP system to ensure accurate ordering and rescheduling messages.
- Control inventory levels to meet established goals while maintaining acceptable on‑time delivery to customers.
- Manage and coordinate open orders.
- Manage material allocation for large OEM accounts using Buffalo products.
- Manage the consigned inventory program.
- Support inventory selection and allocation to ensure efficient use of material.
- Maximize use of slow‑moving and obsolete (SM&O), 2nd‑class, and aged material and cut pieces.
- Provide timely responses to Customer Care requests for product requirements.
- Maintain accurate delivery dates from suppliers and proactively communicate date changes to Customer Care.
- Manage and direct the elimination of scrap material.
- Serve as the direct customer contact for selling SM&O, cut pieces, stranded material, and similar items.
- Assist in production planning to support achievement of on‑time delivery goals.
- Create and refine procedures, processes, and reports to streamline the planning and buying process.
- Utilize supplier websites to place orders and monitor the status of existing orders.
- Maintain the Supplier Evaluation program and publish periodic updates to approved suppliers.
- Expedite material to the proper department or storage location.
- Conduct required cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Assist the shipping department by identifying work procedures, preparing work schedules, and expediting workflow.
- Confer with department supervisors to determine overdue materials and parts, and provide updates on material status.
- Respond to Customer Service requests to purchase non‑standard products in support of customer demand.
- Work with brokers and freight forwarders to ensure proper filing of paperwork and timely delivery of shipments.
- Order non‑standard parts and supplies from affiliates.
- Maintain and track in‑transit shipments.
- Verify receipts and proper billing on vendor invoices.
- Work with the receiving department to ensure goods are received properly.
- Perform account management for select house accounts.
- Plan all profiles, including cleats, guides, and sidewalls.
- Plan, coordinate, control, and direct activities involving production scheduling, release of work orders, and delivery promises.
