E8 Engineering is working with a prestigious aerospace client to hire a highly skilled On‑Site Supplier Performance Specialist for a 6‑month contract supporting critical aerospace supply chain operations. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, communicating, and driving schedule and quality performance improvements for essential aerospace components required to meet strict launch milestones. This is a part‑time role (10‑15 hours per week).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Technical Program Management Support:
Provide active, on‑site program management support at the supplier facility to systematically target, address, and work through complex engineering dependencies to optimize component delivery and support downstream factory operations. - On‑Site Production Drive:
Provide direct, on‑site support at the supplier facility to monitor production capacity and accelerate schedule delivery. - Schedule Tracking & Forecasting:
Track actual supplier production processes, timelines, and shop floors directly against supplier shop orders to forecast realistic, on‑time delivery dates. - Risk Mitigation:
Proactively identify, analyze, and communicate potential schedule, quality, or performance risks to management leadership before they impact final operational schedules. - Cross‑Team Liaison:
Serve as a vital, clear communication bridge between internal customer teams (Buyers, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality) and the supplier’s engineering and production teams to swiftly resolve manufacturing roadblocks. - Performance Reviews & Metrics:
Perform formal supplier performance reviews utilizing data, trend charts, and metrics to isolate delivery drivers and flow down strict quality requirements. - Data & System Management:
Input real‑time schedule updates and supplier performance data into proprietary management systems, issuing Supplier Recovery Actions (SRA) against delinquent lines as needed. - Reporting:
Compile and deliver a comprehensive weekly findings and risk report directly to the subcontract management team, highlighting progress made on engineering constraints.
- Experience:
10+ years of dedicated aerospace supply chain, subcontract management, or project management experience. - Problem‑Solving Depth:
Strong background in technical program management with a proven ability to interface with engineering teams to resolve complex hardware, design, or manufacturing bottlenecks. - Industry Knowledge:
Deep familiarity with aerospace hardware production, industry market trends, strict aerospace codes, and agency verification processes. - Technical & System
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel savvy for trend charts/metrics). Ability to quickly adapt to specialized supplier management systems. - Communication Style:
Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills, with a pleasant, confident, and diplomatic demeanor when navigating engineering and client relationships.
- Active certifications such as PMP, CPIM, or CSCP.
- Practical knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or Quality Engineering principles.
- Location:
Primarily on‑site at the designated Buffalo, NY supplier facility. - Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to talk, hear, and stand or walk during on‑site facility floor reviews. Must be able to occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.
This position requires access to information subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. Persons as defined in ITAR 22 CFR 120.62, including U.S. Citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents (Green Card holders), or protected individuals per 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) and 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3). This position requires clearing both a background check and drug test.
Pay$50.00 – $70.00 per hour.
