Present Schedule

Monday-Friday: 7am-3pm. Note that stated hours and days may vary – Mandatory overtime, as required, in the Union Contract.

Position Summary

Provide safe delivery of prepared orders of Sushi, deliver and pick up mail from various units on campus as well as marketing materials, while operating business vehicles. This position will also have money handling and deposit responsibilities.

Job Assignments
  • Prepare, load, and unload the delivery vehicle.
  • Drive to and from assignments, delivering food orders to units, delivering and picking up mail.
  • Deliver marketing materials and Staples orders to various units.
  • Responsible for safe operation of the vehicle, keeping it neat and clean.
  • Keep vehicle and keys in assigned places.
  • Maintain high sanitary, hygienic, and safety standards and conditions.
  • Work consistently and productively during the entire shift.
  • Perform general cleaning, other food service duties, and projects as requested by management.
Job Requirements
  • Valid NYS driver’s license with a clean, safe driving record.
  • Minimum one year of customer service experience.
  • Verifiable experience with cash handling and ability to make change accurately.
  • Ability to prioritize work and execute tasks with speed, efficiency, and accuracy in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to fulfill customer orders.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient speaking, reading, and writing in English, with accurate math skills.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and hygiene.
  • Reliable transportation and attendance.
Work Environment
  • Environment can be loud and busy, with exposure to kitchen hazards such as hot surfaces, liquids, sharp knives, and slippery surfaces.
  • Frequent exposure to heat, steam, fire, noise, and extreme temperatures in coolers and freezers.
  • Will be in and out of the delivery vehicle throughout the 8‑hour shift.
  • Make deliveries in all weather and at all campus locations, which may include ascending/descending stairs.
Physical and Mental Demands
  • Position is very active; must stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, stretch, twist, or reach out.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
  • Must use hands to finger, manipulate, reach, stir, measure, pour, cut, chop, dice, and decorate.
  • Involved with taste buds, smelling, feeling with fingers, and visual inspection; requires close and distance vision.
  • Frequently lift and move up to 25 lbs.; occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Valid NYS driver’s license with a clean, safe driving record.
