Salary Range: $53,000.00 To $58,000.00 Annually

Salary differentials are based on multiple factors including (but not limited to), geographic location, education/training, years of relevant experience/seniority, merit, qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The Import Transportation Coordinator independently manages international air and ocean import shipments from origin through final delivery. Serving as a primary operational contact for customers, overseas partners, carriers, truckers, warehouses, customs brokers, and internal teams, this role ensures shipment visibility, operational accuracy, compliance, and service excellence. The Import Transportation Coordinator exercises sound judgment, operational ownership, and proactive problem-solving to support business objectives and deliver a high level of customer service.

• Serve as the primary operational contact for customers and partners, providing proactive shipment updates and issue resolution.
• Maintain shipment visibility and communicate delays, exceptions, and delivery milestones in a timely manner.
• Identify transportation solutions that balance customer requirements, service expectations, and cost efficiency.
• Support customer satisfaction through responsive service and proactive management of shipment risks.
• Coordinate international air and ocean import shipments from booking through final delivery.
• Manage shipment documentation, customs clearance coordination, dispatching, and delivery scheduling.
• Maintain accurate shipment records, milestones, and operational data within Cargo Wise and related systems.
• Ensure compliance with customer SOPs, operational procedures, and service standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Investigate and resolve shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, billing issues, and service failures.
• Implement corrective actions to minimize operational disruptions, storage, demurrage, detention, and additional costs.
• Analyze transportation challenges and develop practical solutions to meet customer and operational requirements.
• Escalate high-risk or customer-sensitive situations appropriately while maintaining accountability for resolution.
• Partner with customers, overseas offices, Customs Brokerage, Domestic Operations, carriers, warehouses, and other stakeholders to support shipment execution.
• Communicate operational updates, delivery requirements, and service exceptions clearly and professionally.
• Support cross-functional initiatives that improve service, efficiency, and operational consistency.
• Assist with onboarding, training, and mentorship of less experienced team members when requested.
• Complete file rating, billing audits, P&L reconciliation, and invoice finalization within established timelines.
