Position: Import CHB Coordinator (Wed.-Sun., 8:00am-5:00pm)

CHB Coordinator

The CHB Coordinator is a developing individual contributor responsible for accurately processing customs entries on assigned accounts and communicating with clients and CBP to support the brokerage team's daily operations while actively building the skills needed to progress toward independent account management. The role works under the guidance of a CHB Team Lead or CHB Supervisor to build proficiency in entry processing, client communication, documentation review, and regulatory compliance.

The Coordinator is expected to meet established KPIs, actively participate in training and coaching, and contribute to team success.

Duties and responsibilities include serving as a primary point of contact for assigned accounts, providing timely updates and responsive customer support; building effective working relationships with clients through professional communication and service; addressing routine client inquiries and escalating complex issues as appropriate; supporting client satisfaction through accurate execution and proactive communication; processing customs entries accurately and timely in accordance with client requirements and regulatory standards;

reviewing and validating shipment documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and supporting customs documentation; ensuring compliance with CBP regulations, customer SOPs, and internal procedures; maintaining accurate shipment records and supporting operational workflow efficiency; investigating and resolving routine entry processing issues, documentation discrepancies, and shipment-related concerns; collaborating with internal teams and regulatory agencies to address operational challenges; identifying risks, compliance concerns, or processing errors and taking appropriate corrective action;

escalating non-routine issues and exceptions to leadership as needed; communicating effectively with clients, CBP, partner government agencies, and internal stakeholders; partnering with Compliance, Transportation, and other operational teams to support shipment execution; participating in team meetings, training programs, and coaching sessions; seeking feedback and applying learnings to improve performance and technical expertise; maintaining accuracy across entry filings, documentation, and account records;

supporting compliance with billing, file completion, and documentation requirements; ensuring files are processed and finalized within established service standards; and contributing to meeting productivity, quality, and compliance KPIs. Perform other duties as assigned.

Benchmarks for measuring success include processing assigned customs entries accurately and within established service standards; consistently meeting productivity, accuracy, and compliance KPIs; maintaining accurate and complete documentation prior to entry filing; demonstrating increasing independence in account management responsibilities; communicating effectively with clients, CBP, and internal stakeholders; proactively identifying and resolving routine processing issues; demonstrating readiness for increased account ownership and complexity.

Skills and qualifications include technical skills such as working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, entry processes, and brokerage procedures; ability to process customs entries and review shipment documentation accurately; proficiency in Cargo Wise or similar customs brokerage systems;
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, including Excel, Outlook, and Word; knowledge of customs documentation, classification, and regulatory requirements. Business skills include strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy; effective verbal and written communication; customer service and relationship management skills; time management and prioritization in a deadline-driven environment; problem-solving and analytical thinking. Required qualifications include 1–2 years of experience in customs brokerage, international trade, logistics, or a related field;
