Groundwork Operations, LLC provides general and specialized crew to set‑up and break‑down indoor and outdoor events across multiple regions. Our team handles projects of all sizes – from single‑crew set‑ups to large‑scale events such as the NY Marathon, where we support dozens of shifts each day for several weeks.
We are recruiting in the Buffalo, Syracuse and Rochester areas for a specific project with shift opportunities on Monday the 15th, Tuesday the 16th and Sunday the 21st of April 2024. Applicants hired for this project whose on‑site work meets Groundwork standards will remain in our system and be eligible for future gig‑by‑gig opportunities in the region, and may also receive additional assignments in the NYC, New Jersey, Connecticut, Boston and Philadelphia areas.

- Set‑up / installation and break‑down of tents, rigging, drapes, signage, hardware structures, tables, chairs and barricades
- Laying flooring and decks
- Coordinating with crew
- Coiling and laying cable
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Distribution and collection of materials
- Trash removal
Job descriptions and assignments vary from shift to shift.
HARD SKILLS- Ability to lift 100 lbs
- Ability to reach, kneel and bend
- Ability to safely use basic tools (hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, box cutters, etc.)
- Personal schedule management (gather, report, and attend all scheduled shifts)
- Open communication and continuous self‑improvement
- Collaboration with clients and co‑workers
- Positive attitude in stressful situations
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to procedures
- Valid state
- Working email address
- Consistent smartphone with data plan for mobile apps
- Ability to complete online employment paperwork with e‑signature
- First‑shift uniform requirement – all‑black attire with work gloves (no large logos or writing)
- Operating pallet jacks, hand trucks, dollies, etc.
- Operation of forklifts, scissor or boom lifts
- Driving cargo or passenger vans
- Professional moving, warehouse, packing, shipping and receiving
- Stagehand, AV, concert and theater work
- Traffic, commercial vehicle and daily truck‑maintenance knowledge is required if you will be handling a 26’ box truck.
- Ability to navigate public transit or drive to remote locations, often at odd hours.
- Responsible for adhering to safety practices, traffic regulations, and client expectations on every job site.
