Director of Advancement, College of Arts and Sciences

The Division of University Advancement is seeking a Director of Advancement to join the College of Arts and Sciences team in major gift fundraising, focusing on identifying, cultivating, and soliciting donors capable of giving $100,000 or more. Working collaboratively with advancement leadership, faculty, and university partners, the Director plays a key role in driving sustainable philanthropic growth.

This position is ideal for a motivated, results oriented fundraising professional with a strong record of achievement, passion for higher education, and curiosity about the impact of philanthropy within the university environment.

A successful candidate will:

* Cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects of $100k+ to build a robust donor/prospect portfolio in support of the College of Arts and Sciences.

* Experience national travel (at least 50%) and 132+ donor visits annually, with an emphasis on building relationships from early-stage engagement to successful solicitation and long-term stewardship.

* Collaborate with university leadership, faculty, and volunteers to coordinate advancement strategies and strengthen donor connections.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree.

* A minimum of three to five years of fundraising experience or comparable revenue-generation experience, including personal solicitation and proven success in goal achievement.

* Excellent written and oral communication skills; negotiation skills; and the ability to deal with complex concepts and ambiguity.

* Strong problem solving and oral and written communication skills.

* Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen and interact effectively with donors or high-level volunteers.

* Technical/digital competence.

* Demonstrated commitment to collaboration as well as the ability to work well both independently and collectively with a diverse team and donor/prospect constituency.

* Ability to travel up to 50% of the time nationally with a key focus on key alumni/donor markets, and work evenings and occasional weekends.
