Our client is a growing and respected consulting firm based in the Buffalo, NY region, specializing in delivering high-quality due diligence and consulting services throughout the country. The Vice President (VP) of Environmental Due Diligence (EDD) Services plays a critical role in the strategic leadership and management of the organization. Reporting to Senior Leadership, the VP oversees the EDD department, drives business growth, ensures operational excellence, and maximizes department profitability.

This position demands exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and operational insight to drive the company forward in alignment with its goals and objectives. This position requires working with the COO, SVPs, VPs, and Directors of the Corporation to ensure the success of the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the overall operations and strategic direction of the Environmental Due Diligence (EDD) department, developing policies, procedures, and systems that improve efficiency, quality, and performance.
  • Plan and oversee EDD and subcontracted projects, including resources, schedules, budgets, workflow, deliverables, and quality.
  • Provide senior-level technical oversight and QA/QC of environmental due diligence reports to ensure compliance with ASTM standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Review reports prepared internally and by outside consultants, provide technical feedback, and help resolve complex environmental and quality issues.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of EDD processes, reporting standards, best management practices, and recommendation calibration.
  • Hire, develop, train, and manage EDD staff while overseeing performance, accountability, employee retention, and professional development.
  • Develop and manage training and continuing education programs for Inspectors, Project Managers, and other team members.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while supporting client onboarding, account management, feedback, and retention.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert in sales, marketing, presentations, conferences, and business development activities.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, strategic alliances, and opportunities for market expansion.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and market developments to identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and new services.
  • Partner with senior leadership on corporate strategy, long-range planning, new initiatives, and organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with Finance to develop budgets and forecasts, monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and identify opportunities to improve profitability and manage risk.
  • Manage and expand a network of environmental, construction, and valuation consultants and subcontractors, ensuring appropriate qualifications, insurance, credentials, and client requirements are maintained.
  • Ensure outsourced projects and consultants meet established quality, compliance, and client standards.
  • Prepare management and program reports and communicate operational, financial, and client-related issues to senior leadership.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to strengthen market presence and relationships.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and positive team environment while working closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in the environmental or related science field.
  • 10 years of experience in a similar capacity
  • Environmental Professional as defined by ASTM (current standard).
  • Agencies Experience (Freddie Fanny, HUD) preferred but not required
Licenses and certifications preferred but not required:

PG, PE, LEP, LSRP, LSP

Compensation:

Competitive salary: $120,000 – $130,000 (based on experience)
