Production Manager, Operations Engineer
GTI is a contract manufacturing partner supporting customers in renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, and industrial systems.
We fabricate custom designed, purpose‑built enclosures and skids for our customers and perform mechanical and electrical integration in‑house, delivering a true turn‑key product to our customers. The Production Planner/Scheduler is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the flow of projects through the project life cycle for the entire Company (Buffalo, NY). This role provides timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the production floor and works in conjunction with the project management team.
Job Responsibilities- Create daily, weekly, and long‑term production plans, converting customer needs into actionable manufacturing schedules
- Balance labor, machine capacity, inventory, and materials to meet production targets
- Review open sales orders to determine customer requirements
- Address unforeseen production issues and reallocate resources as needed
- Coordinate delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedule
- Utilize MES/ERP system to auto‑generate manufacturing work orders
- Coordinate between warehouse and purchasing on material shortages
- Notify Operations & Sales of any schedule impacts to customers
- Coordinate/expedite manufacturing builds to ensure schedules are achieved
- Complete status reports, such as production progress, customer information and materials inventory
- Identify areas for improvement in the production process and provide feedback
- At least 3 years’ experience in production planning
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Ability to interact well with internal and external customers
- Excellent communication skills
Proficient use of computer systems and software applications - In‑depth knowledge of ERP software preferred
- Associate’s degree – preferable focus on Production Planning, Operations Management, Business Administration or related field
$75,000 - $85,000 an hour
