We’re seeking reliable Machine Operators skilled in CNC machinery and/or brake press operation to join our growing fabrication team. Operators will be responsible for setting up, running, and monitoring production equipment to shape, cut, bend, and finish metal components to strict specifications.
This role supports end-to-end fabrication processes within GTI’s advanced manufacturing environment, contributing to production efficiency, quality output, and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, set up, and operate CNC machines (e.g., milling, routing, punching) according to work orders and engineering drawings
- Set up and operate press brake equipment for bending and forming sheet/plate metal to required dimensions and angles
- Load and align tooling, fixtures, and program parts based on engineering specs
- Inspect finished parts for quality, dimensional accuracy, and adherence to tolerances using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery; report issues to maintenance/lead personnel
- Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Collaborate with production team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals
- Document machine run times, material usage, and production data accurately
Required
- Prior experience operating CNC machines and/or press brakes in a manufacturing or fabrication setting
- Basic understanding of machine setup, tooling changes, and part measurement
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and standard work instructions
- Comfortable using precision measuring tools
- Commitment to safety standards and quality outcomes
- Capacity to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Formal technical training or certification in machining, fabrication, or related fields
- Experience with industrial metal fabrication processes (sheet/plate steel)
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM or CNC programming fundamentals
