GTI is seeking an Industrial Painter to support manufacturing operations at our Buffalo, NY facility on 1st shift. This role is responsible for surface preparation, coating application, and quality execution on fabricated metal components and assemblies. The Industrial Painter plays a critical role in ensuring finished products meet quality, durability, and customer standards.
Key Responsibilities- Clean, prep, and paint fabricated metal substrates
- Prepare surfaces for coating in accordance with product data sheets and specifications
- Select, mix, and apply primers, epoxies, and topcoats
- Apply coatings using airless and conventional spray equipment
- Ensure finished work meets GTI quality standards and customer requirements
- Monitor coating quality, coverage, and finish consistency
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment
- Perform proper cleanup of spray equipment and work spaces
- Follow safety procedures and material handling requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial or OEM painting
- Working knowledge of airless and conventional spray systems
- Basic understanding of abrasive blasting and surface preparation techniques
- Familiarity with two-component primers, epoxies, and topcoats including mixing, thinning, and cleanup
- Ability to follow work instructions, safety guidelines, and quality standards
- 5+ years of experience in industrial or OEM painting
- Strong experience with metal surface preparation and cleaning
- Strong understanding of setup, use, and maintenance of spray equipment
- Working knowledge of product data sheets and safety data sheets
- Experience checking coating thickness and recording measurements on daily logs
