Production Manager
Job Requirements
The Production Team Lead has the responsibility to lead and motivate individuals and team development in the Production Department, quality performance, cost parameters, and service to internal and external customers. Arranges and controls daily team activities to ensure smooth workflow, quality production, and timely delivery. Gives direction and improvement strategies for manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain processes
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the proactive safety of their crew and all other personnel working on site during their shift.
- Assists in shift startups and coordination of all production team activities. Prioritizes Safety and Quality action.
- Audits and ensures crew is following required methods for manufacturing (MPD, CONTROL, Plan, Work Instructions, One Point Lessons, etc.)
- Facilitates and administers training for all hourly associates. Controls and administers training matrix for all teams.
- Facilitates crew lineups and staffing to standards as set forth by management
- Facilitates work orders to shop floor and ensures production orders are produced in order as set forth by Production Control
- Helps with any necessary technical training or re-training of crew members
- Assist in troubleshooting of Assets as needed
- Helps keep the work environment safe. Able to do risk assessments and participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Oversees various aspects of production and can assist in inventory control, audits, and necessary production paperwork.
- Act as a first line problem solver using the 4M loss model (Man, Material, Method, Machine)
- Acts as production operator as needed.
- May assist in Production Advisor coverage responsibilities.
- Responsible for keeping Gemba and Performance monitoring communication boards at each work area.
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
Needed:
- High school degree required /Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Ability to work 12 hour, rotating Shifts
- Strong communication skills, ability to speak to all levels within an organization
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, production planning and reporting software, etc.
- Powerful skills required:
Punctual, possess the energy, effort, attitude and organization to help lead production efforts in a quick moving and diverse work invironment. - Flexibility of work schedule required to meet needs of the business. Cover Production Advisor as needed.
- Must learn and possess mastery of all Off-Line Production Assets and ability to train employees
- Strong communication. Ability to provide shift notes, follow up actions and details.
Compensation:
- $30-35/hour
- Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
