Salary Range: $60,000 - $88,000

Your role

As a Manufacturing Planner, your mission is to be responsible for developing and executing machine capacity and production plans to support operational performance and customer demand. This role ensures optimal utilization of machine and labor resources, while proactively identifying constraints and aligning cross‑functional activities to maintain efficient, uninterrupted production. You will report to the Operations Manager.

You will
  • Develop and maintain machining allocation and capacity plans based on demand forecasts
  • Analyze machine and labor capacity to establish both short‑ and long‑term production plans
  • Create and manage detailed production schedules to optimize throughput and minimize downtime, including changeover considerations
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (production, engineering, maintenance) to align schedules with operational priorities
  • Lead weekly planning cycles and communicate production plans to cell leaders
  • Drive schedule adjustments to support new product introduction (NPI), continuous improvement initiatives, and operational changes
  • Monitor and report key manufacturing KPIs (Quality, Delivery, Cost) and address underperformance
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance planning with maintenance teams to minimize disruption to production schedules
  • Manage safety stock levels and support Kanban optimization, including bin resizing activities
  • Lead initiatives to improve flow, flexibility, and efficiency (e.g., swap‑out reduction, 3F principles: Fast, Flexible, Flow)

You have at least 5 years of experience, working in a machining or manufacturing environment.

Core Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Strong analytical capability, including advanced Excel skills
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Solid understanding of machining processes and CNC operations
  • Ability to analyze and calculate machine and labor efficiency
Preferred
  • Experience with SAP and Kinaxis or similar planning tools
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Experience in capacity planning, production scheduling, or operations planning

Physical Requirements

This role involves a mix of desk‑based engineering tasks, on‑site inspections, and interaction with manufacturing processes, requiring moderate physical activity in varied environments.

Sitting/Stationary Positioning:
Remains in a seated position frequently (about 40‑50% of the time) for tasks such as designing, analyzing data, or using computer‑aided design (CAD) software.

Hand and Finger Use/Dexterity:
Uses hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls occasionally to moderately (30‑40% of the time), with manual dexterity and arm‑hand steadiness for tasks like sketching, operating computers, or handling small tools; near vision required for detailed drawings or screens.

Standing/Walking:
Traverses moderate distances or remains in an upright stationary position frequently (30‑40% of the time) to inspect production lines, collaborate with teams, or evaluate equipment on the shop…
