Job Title: Welder I

Work Schedule: Onsite – Buffalo, NY

Location: East Aurora, New York (Onsite, 2nd shift Monday–Friday 3:00 pm–11:30 pm)

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED preferred. Demonstrated ability to understand and apply verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and perform basic arithmetic.

  • At least one year of related welding experience.

  • Basic vocational or technical education in a related field, if no welding experience.

Responsibilities
  • Operation of electron beam (EB) welding and other arc welding equipment.
  • Perform orbital welding (semi‑automatic TIG tube welding) in a clean‑room environment, including set‑up, monitoring, and ensuring cleanliness standards.
  • Operate TIG welding equipment both manually and semi‑automatically.
  • Set‑up, adjust, and maintain welding equipment; perform preventive maintenance such as checking oil, changing filament on EB welders, cleaning filters and vacuum chamber, and disassembling and realigning the electron gun.
  • Participate in electronic and mechanical modifications to equipment.
  • Work from welding schedules and worksheets, determining voltage, amperage, travel distance, and applying interpolation to meet job requirements.
  • Assemble welding‑related hardware and install fixtures; create weld samples, prepare them for inspection, and inspect results under a microscope to verify requirements.
  • Handle diversified production and prototype parts that are largely machined prior to welding; determine operating parameters when precise instructions are absent.
  • Set, monitor, and adjust controls for each weld based on material and set‑up; use CNC programming and mathematical calculations, including trigonometry, when needed.
  • Be familiar with operating equipment, welding processes, and materials; perform complex welds and report results; observe and report any unusual conditions to supervisor or engineering.

Salary Range (Buffalo, NY): $22.00–$27.00 Hourly
