What You Will Do:
  • Check out material allocated for fabricating assignment with specifications given on Bill of Material or drawings.
  • Perform all necessary set‑up operations preparatory to layout, cutting or beveling and also for welding when related to the job assignment.
  • Perform all layout operations relevant to fabricating assignment, using tools as may be necessary or required.
  • Perform all necessary burning, cutting and beveling operations to establish correct length, bevel, and size of hole relating to the job assignment; perform own chipping and removal of slag from burning or beveling operations.
  • Use proper tools, fixtures or other devices to set up and align fittings as required by drawings within specified tolerances.
  • Set up and operate coupling welder and tubesheet welder in the DFT line.
  • Assist lower grades when asked.
  • Maintain all necessary layout tools.
  • Exercise reasonable care and protection for all machine surfaces when welding or handling.
  • Check overall set‑up correctness with inspector, if necessary.
  • Notify foreman of questionable material that is allocated to a job and appears defective; remove work from rolls or positioner when completed.
  • Qualify for necessary ASME Section VIII & IX Code Welding requirements using Metallic Arc, TIG (Heli‑Arc) and MIG.
  • Be code qualified on shop welding procedures for carbon steel, stainless steel to carbon steel, stainless steel to stainless steel, including PED directive or other mandated customer welder qualification requirements for listed metals.
  • When qualified, perform welding operations as called upon; demonstrate consistent quality in weld and fit‑up and maintain productivity to meet or exceed reasonable time estimates.
  • Be assessed by department supervisor and Quality Control personnel on a periodic basis.
What You Will Bring:
  • Must be able to pass a written competency skills test at time of interview.
  • Candidate will be required to pass a series of weld tests in order to be hired.
  • Qualify for necessary ASME Section VIII & IX Code Welding requirements using Metallic Arc, Heli‑Arc (TIG) and MIG.
  • Be code qualified on shop welding procedures for carbon steel, stainless steel to carbon steel, stainless steel to stainless steel, including PED directive or other mandated customer welder qualification requirements for listed metals.
  • Demonstrate consistent quality in weld and fit‑up.
  • Maintain productivity to meet or exceed reasonable time estimates.
  • Be assessed by department supervisor and Quality Control personnel on a periodic basis.
