Job Title:
Pipe Welder
This role focuses on performing precision open-root welding on piping systems using MIG and TIG techniques for high-quality lube oil consoles, gas conditioning skids, and related equipment supporting the global energy industry. You will work with a variety of pipe sizes and materials, contribute directly to critical fabrication projects, and operate in a clean, climate-controlled facility with both 1st and 2nd shift opportunities.
Responsibilities- Perform precision open-root welding on piping systems using MIG and TIG techniques on pipe ranging from ½ inch to 12 inches in diameter.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols to ensure all work complies with project specifications and industry standards.
- Execute high-quality welds on carbon steel and stainless steel materials for high-pressure applications.
- Follow all applicable OSHA safety regulations and site‑specific safety rules to maintain a safe working environment.
- Independently follow instructions and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality.
- Prepare joints and perform proper fit‑up to maintain quality standards before welding operations.
- Conduct visual inspections of welds and joints to ensure adherence to quality control requirements and identify any defects.
- Collaborate closely with assembly teams and leads to meet project schedules and production timelines.
- Operate forklifts safely to move materials, components, and finished products as needed.
- Use overhead cranes to safely lift, position, and handle heavy materials and assemblies during fabrication.
- Utilize welding and fabrication tools such as grinders, cutting torches, and measuring instruments with precision to support fabrication activities.
- Apply strong pipe fitting techniques, including layout, alignment, and joint preparation, to ensure accurate and secure installations.
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding for precision open-root welding on piping systems.
- Demonstrated ability to weld on pipe sizes ranging from ½ inch to 12 inches in diameter.
- Experience welding carbon steel and stainless steel for high-pressure applications.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols accurately.
- Strong knowledge of pipe fitting techniques, including layout, alignment, and proper joint preparation.
- Skill in using welding and fabrication tools such as grinders, cutting torches, and measuring instruments with precision.
- Familiarity with quality control processes, including performing visual inspections and identifying weld defects.
- Capability to follow OSHA safety rules and site safety procedures consistently.
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Experience operating forklifts in a fabrication or industrial environment.
- Experience using overhead cranes to handle and move materials safely.
