** Job Summary*
* Setup Mechanic II sets up and repairs a variety of fabricating machines and equipment. Works independently within established procedures. Follows standard procedures to monitor equipment performance, safety, and effectiveness.
** Job Duties*
* · Set up, align, and install molds, dies, fixtures, and tooling on molding and fabrication equipment.
· Perform machine startup, shutdown, and changeovers per procedures.
· Adjust machine settings (temperature, pressure, timing, stroke, and controls) to maintain process stability and product quality.
· Connect and verify utilities such as steam, oil, water, and other required process lines.
· Load materials (resins and production inputs) into equipment as needed.
· Run sample cycles, inspect parts, and adjust processes to meet dimensional and quality requirements.
· Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process issues.
· Disassemble, repair, and replace defective components using hand and power tools.
· Perform preventive maintenance and assist with complex equipment repairs.
· Support general equipment reliability and production efficiency initiatives.
· Work with QA to verify critical dimensions and approve production runs.
· Train and assist junior technicians and operators as needed.
· Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas in compliance with safety standards.
· May need to cover another shift temporarily as production or staffing needs require.

** Impact*
* · Set up and daily monitoring of manufacturing machines and equipment to ensure continuous production.
· Communicates with senior personnel to gain approval/escalate necessary changes for plant maintenance.

* · Following all rules, regulations, and procedures set forth in the safety manual.
· Promoting safety awareness throughout the workplace.
· Alerting supervisors to any safety hazards they discover.
· Wearing appropriate, proper protective equipment whenever required.
· Using guards on tools and machinery whenever required.
· Following proper lifting techniques using legs and not the back.
· Operating any vehicles, equipment, tools, or machines only if they are authorized.
· Reporting any injury or loss immediately to the Supervisor/Team Lead.
· Promoting a positive attitude about safety and never performing any unsafe practice that could endanger the employee or others.
· Providing information to their immediate supervisor if a better and safer procedure can be implemented in performing any operation.

* · Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
· Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
** Analysis/Problem Solving*
* · Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
· Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems.
** Communication*
* · Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to write reports and correspondence.
· Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees in the organization, using a proper tone and in a professional manner.
** Skills/Technical Skills*
* · Proficiency in key manufacturing and equipment support competencies, including automation, equipment maintenance, failure analysis, machine and production operation, calibration, refurbishment, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Working knowledge of CNC/numerical control systems, Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and robotics. Basic understanding of molding processes, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
