Position: Sr. Assembly & Test Technician (Edwards Vacuum)

Overview

Location and Compensation:
Buffalo, NY. Salary Range: $21.63 - $31.27 per hour. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.

Your role:
The Senior A&T Technician supports various work centers, including electronics, pump module assembly, system assembly & test, and final assembly, to ensure seamless production flow and high-quality output. The technician will primarily build and assemble modules, cables and dry pumps using engineered drawings and documented requirements. The Senior Assembly & Test Technician is required to meet the build standard defined in assembly and test procedures and maintain continuous throughput.

The Senior Assembly & Test Technician will train and mentor technicians as required.

Responsibilities

Assemble and test modules, cables and dry pumps in line with the daily production plan - focusing on quality and output targets.

Maintain a safe and clean work area.

Follow assembly and test instructions and procedures to meet output quality requirements.

Support the training of team members and collaborate to drive improvement and efficiency.

Maintain a good working relationship with department colleagues and the supporting departments.

Communicate and seek guidance where there are errors or difficulty in build.

Perform quality checks to ensure the assembly meets quality standards.

Train and mentor other technicians as required.

High School diploma or equivalent / associated experience.
Knowledge and experience of the principles of mechanical component constructions and assembly and test. Dependent on assigned area.
Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and diagrams.
Experience with hand tools and small power tools, including pneumatic.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Minimum 2 years experience of assembly & test in a manufacturing setting.

Physical Demands

This role requires precision handling of tools and machinery, often in a manufacturing setting with prolonged physical engagement.

Hand and finger use/dexterity: continued or almost continual use with dexterity and manual control for precise manipulation and assembly.
Standing/Walking: upright position with occasional movement to position materials or equipment.
Moving Objects/Lifting/Carrying: frequently moves materials and tools; general physical activities involved.
Bending/Twisting/Reaching: moderate flexibility needs.
Repetitive Motions: repetitive actions with sustained control of machines.
Other Environmental Factors: exposure to hazardous equipment, contaminants, noise, or minor injury risks daily; protective equipment worn daily.
