- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Set up and secure work pieces, tooling, and fixtures on CNC/manual lathes.
- Choose appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for each machining operation.
- Make all set‑ups using specified equipment and occasionally without jigs and fixtures or special tools.
- Operate CNC/manual lathes to perform milling, turning, facing, boring, threading, and other machining operations.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure precision and adherence to quality standards.
- Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Occasionally develop new methods and machining techniques.
- Capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC/manual lathes, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct in‑process and final inspections to ensure the quality of machined components.
- Make necessary adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and meet quality standards.
- Inspect all work, detect unusual conditions, defective material, deviate parts, recognize errors in blueprints and operation sheets, and report to supervisor.
- Record production data, including programming, dimensions, tolerances, and tooling information.
- Complete mandatory documentation related to machining processes and quality control.
- 5+ years proven experience as a Machinist or in a similar role.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in operating CNC/manual machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, measuring tools, and machining techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
- Good communication and time‑management skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted from the floor to the chest.
- Occasionally willing to work flexible or extended hours on an as‑needed basis.
