PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading company in the aerospace and defense industry to hire an Assembler (Electronics Assembler) for a 12-month consulting opportunity in Buffalo, NY . Position Details

Job Title: Assembler (Electronics Assembler)

Location: Buffalo, NY 14221

Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-Month Assignment)

Pay Rate: $24.00 per Hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2nd Shift

Hours: 4:00 PM-12:30 AM (includes unpaid 30-minute lunch)

What You'll Do

As an Electronics Assembler, you will play a vital role in the manufacturing of sophisticated aerospace and defense products by:

  • Assembling electronic components using assembly drawings, diagrams, work instructions, and job aids.

  • Performing a variety of assembly operations, including:

  • Fine-pitch soldering of circuit card assemblies

  • BGA rework and repair

  • Manual and automated microelectronics assembly

  • Electromechanical assembly

  • Semi-rigid wire and cable harness fabrication and installation

  • Transformer winding and encapsulation

  • Performing all assembly work in accordance with company and industry standards.

  • Conducting continuity checks on in-process and completed assemblies.

  • Operating production equipment such as soldering stations, microscopes, crimp tools, and ovens safely and effectively.

  • Inspecting products for workmanship, accuracy, and compliance with build documentation.

  • Identifying, documenting, and helping resolve nonconformances through rework and repair activities.

  • Accurately recording production and quality data within manufacturing systems and quality records.

  • Collaborating with technicians, engineers, and supervisors to improve processes and product quality.

  • Following all safety, ESD, FOD, and cleanliness requirements.

  • Successfully completing in-house workmanship and certification training programs.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of assembly or electronics experience , or an Associate Degree in Electronics or a related technical discipline .

  • Soldering experience.

  • Experience performing manufacturing or assembly work in a metric-based environment.

  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 10 pounds.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

  • This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies:
    1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or
    2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Current or previous IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certifications.

  • Ability to solder to a Class 2 standard.

  • Experience working under a microscope with exceptional precision and manual dexterity.

  • Ability to learn quickly and perform tasks independently after training.

  • Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to interpret written work instructions, drawings, and technical documentation.

  • Experience delivering high-quality work in a customer-focused manufacturing environment.

  • Additional experience in electronics, electromechanical assembly, cable assembly, or microelectronics manufacturing.
