The Production Planner Specialist creates the manufacturing schedule and monitors it throughout the month to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers.
This position works within Habasit Globe's Materials Management department in Buffalo, NY, interfacing with purchasing, engineering, production, and customer service to coordinate the efficient flow of materials and production activities.

- Supportthevision,mission,andguidingprinciplesofthecompany.
- Observeapplicablesafety,health,andenvironmentalrulesandguidelines,includingtheuseofappropriatepersonalprotectiveequipment(PPE).
- Attendandparticipateintrainingopportunitiesandseminarsrelevanttotheposition.
- Adheretocompanyoperatingprocedures,benefit rules,employment policies,andsafetypolicies.
- Improveon-timedeliveriesofproductsandservices.
- Monitorjobswith Just-In-Timeinventoryversusduedates.
- Handlealljobchangesanddates.
- Communicate Out-Of-Stock(OOS) situationstocustomerserviceandlogistics.
- Monitorandmakeadjustmentstoensureoveralldepartmentperformanceforproductionandproductivity.
- Schedule,expedite,andcoordinatethedeliveryandmovementofcriticalmaterial,includingmaterialtransfers.
- Interfacewithpurchasing,engineering,production,andcustomerservice.
- Scheduleandpreparetheproductionscheduleforproduction.
- Developandprepareweeklyupdatesonschedulingefficiencytowardthedepartment.
- Ensureallpartiesarefullyawareofproductionstatusandthatworkplanningandexecutionobjectivesareintegratedandcommunicated.
- Monitor,analyze,andreportperformancetoscheduleofproductionactivitiesutilizinginformationderivedfrommaterialandproductioncontrolsystems.
- Monitorserviceanddeliveryissuesandtakecorrectiveactionsasneeded.
- Identifyandresolvesupplierandinternalerrorsthatresultinbudgetorschedulediscrepancies.
- Researchorderanddeliverydiscrepancies,resolveschedulingissues,andtakeappropriatecorrectiveactionstopreventsimilarissues.
- Workwiththe Materials/Purchasing Supervisortocreateaschedulethatresultsinefficientmachineutilizationinconcertwiththeproductionrunschedule.
- Ensurethatrunsareprioritizedforon-timedeliveryandthatrawmaterialisavailableasschedulesarecreated.
- Monitorcurrentpartinventory,updatetheproductionteamdaily,andensurethattransportationtimeisconsideredinleadtimeforon-time delivery.
- Rescheduleanyjobsrequired(All Specials orders,Largevolumeorders,International orders,etc.).
- Manageandreleasejobsforstockedparts(Q.C.,USPS,Access conveyor,etc.).
- Rescheduletohelpachievemonthlyanddailybudgetneeds.
- Re-schedule out-of-stockreleasedjobstominimizeimpactonon-time percentage.
- Reviewcapacityplanningandleadtimes.
- ReviewB.O.M.sforaccuracyandavailability.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- High competency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Experience in inventory and materials management.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 1st shift. Additional hours may be required to meet production and scheduling demands.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Three to five years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Experience in inventory and materials management.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Minimum of three years of tenure with the company.
