Buffalo. Tapecon. 1st Shift Production Supervisor $65,000 - $77,000/year.

We are seeking an honest and dedicated Production Supervisor to lead our team through effective communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building. This role is responsible for overseeing daily production operations, ensuring compliance with company procedures and regulations, managing workflow, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business goals.

Operations run three shifts Monday-Friday with some Saturday coverage as assigned.

This position would be for 1st shift (6am-2:30pm) with flexibility to adjust for production or staffing needs.

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of the production floor to ensure efficient operations, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with safety regulations. This role involves supervising production staff, optimizing production schedules, maintaining data integrity of the ERP system, and implementing and enforcing company policies and procedures. The Production Supervisor also plays a role in training and developing team members to enhance their skills and ensure consistent performance.

Collaboration with other departments is essential to meet production targets in a contract manufacturing setting.

Essential Duties
  • Oversee daily production activities to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
  • Approve and edit time and attendance requests and records for direct reports.
  • Assign tasks and monitor progress for schedule adherence
  • Lead, train, and develop production staff, promoting a positive work environment.
  • Work with appropriate resources to implement and develop training programs and materials using competency-based assessment.
  • Identify and make recommendations for any employee cross training, transfer, or advancement opportunities.
  • Participate in the selection of employees.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  • Use progressive discipline as needed within approved guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with QMS
  • Support Tapecon manufacturing policies, quality plan and ISO procedures
  • Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address and resolve quality issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Contribute and enforce best practices and lean manufacturing principles to optimize production.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain data integrity of the ERP system by regularly reviewing records and correcting errors.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to troubleshoot and resolve ERP-related issues.
  • Train production staff on proper data entry and usage of the ERP system.
  • Prepare and present production reports to management as required
Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 to 5 years of related production experience
  • Associate degree in Business Management or equivalent supervisory experience of 2+ years highly preferred
  • Experience using an Enterprise resource planning (ERP) system highly preferred
