Assembler/Welder
Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking an experienced Assembler/Welder to join a leading manufacturing team in the Buffalo area!
Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
Payrate: $28-32/hr based on experience
The Centrifugal Assembler performs a wide range of assembly, welding, and inspection tasks to ensure components and finished products meet exact specifications. This role requires the ability to read blueprints, operate various tools and equipment, and maintain high standards of workmanship in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and test industrial machinery and compression equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, method sheets, and specifications.
- Perform MIG and TIG welding as required for component assembly.
- Operate pneumatic, power, and hand tools for assembly, welding, wiring, and related tasks.
- Inspect parts and finished components to identify defects and ensure quality.
- Support material handling activities, including loading/unloading using forklifts and hoists.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas; initiate repair work orders when needed.
- Complete other duties as needed to support production and logistics operations.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Proficiency with standard hand tools (wrenches, sockets, hammers, tape measures, crimpers, cutters, steel banding).
- Minimum 3 years of MIG & TIG welding experience.
- Knowledge of proper stainless-steel purging techniques.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Willingness to learn and operate job-related equipment (power tools, forklifts, skyjacks, cranes, measuring devices).
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Background in mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, precision measurement, blueprint reading, or pipe fitting preferred.
- Must be comfortable working near moving mechanical equipment and around chemicals, sealants, and lubricants.
- Must be able to work in varying temperatures and noise levels (hearing protection provided when required).
