Position Description
Job Summary:
The Shop Welder is responsible for fabricating, welding, assembling, and repairing overhead cranes, structural steel, and related components in a shop environment. This role interprets engineering drawings and specifications to manufacture high-quality products, performs mechanical and welding repairs, and completes final assembly and functional testing to ensure equipment meets quality, safety, and customer requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Fabricate cranes, structural steel, and other components in the shop as necessary.
- Perform mechanical and welding repairs in the shop as needed.
- Final assembly and testing of overhead cranes on the shop floor.
- Ensure that equipment is built to specification and drawings provided.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 3 years in an industrial environment or similar military experience.
- Skills and experience in welding and mechanical maintenance.
- Team approach to problem solving.
- Ability to interface with internal and external customers.
