Assistant Director of Retention and Acquisition, Annual Giving

University at Buffalo is hiring an Assistant Director of Retention and Acquisition, Annual Giving. This role develops and executes strategies to strengthen donor relationships by acquiring new donors, retaining existing ones, and illustrating the impact of philanthropy through personalized engagement and storytelling. The position collaborates across teams to align fundraising efforts and uses data analytics to optimize donor experiences.

• Develop and implement donor retention and acquisition strategies targeting various donor segments.
• Leverage donor data and campaign metrics to inform targeted, multi-channel outreach strategies.
• Create compelling communications by translating donor impact stories demonstrating contributions to student success, research, and innovation.
• Collaborate with colleagues in Annual Giving, Alumni Engagement, Donor Relations and Stewardship, Advancement Communications, and Prospect Research.
• Test innovative engagement approaches and contribute to continuous improvement and team culture.
• Required knowledge: proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, multi-channel campaign experience (email, digital, direct mail), data analysis for strategy and performance evaluation.
• Qualifications include a bachelor's degree, two years' experience in fundraising or related fields, excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and problem-solving skills, and project management experience.
• Salary range: $60,000 - $65,000 annually.
