Manager of Grants and Stewardship

Job Description:

VIA is seeking a full time Manager of Grants and Stewardship. Reporting to the Vice President of Development, t his position is primarily responsible for identifying, crafting and managing the grant and reporting process as well as supporting donor stewardship efforts.

Essential Functions:

  • Research and Identification:
    Identify potential grant opportunities from institutional, family, and corporate foundations that align with VIA's mission and programs.
  • Proposal and Report Writing:
    Prepare, write, and submit high-quality grant proposals and reports, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines and deadlines.
  • Collaboration:

    Work cross-departmentally with program staff to gather information for proposals and reports, including project objectives, outcomes, budgets, and evaluation methods.
  • Grant Management:
    • Track and manage all aspects of the grant lifecycle, including application submission, timelines, and reporting requirements.
    • Ensure adherence to grant agreements and maintain comprehensive records for accountability.
  • Stewardship Management:
    • Support planning and executing donor stewardship initiatives for individual, corporate, and foundation partners, including scheduling agency tours or meetings with donors and agency leadership.
    • Execute benefits to donors and funders in a timely and high-quality manner.
  • Gift Processing:
    Support gift processing to ensure accurate execution of check processing procedures and donor acknowledgement procedures.
  • Data Management:
    Maintain accurate records of all grant and donor activities in the donor database.
  • Support the execution of other development projects, such as annual fundraisers and campaigns
  • Proven experience developing and writing grant proposals to private and public funding sources, including budget narratives and project timelines.
  • Working knowledge of grant application and reporting guidelines, including electronic submission processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with familiarity in donor databases.
  • Strong, persuasive writing and editing skills with a high-level command of grammar and an ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to deadlines.
  • Effective collaboration with cross-departmental teams and diverse stakeholders to gather necessary information.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with donors and community partners.
  • Analytical skills for gathering, evaluating, and presenting data effectively.
  • Displays a high level of emotional intelligence and respect for maintaining sensitive information regarding employee, managerial, organizational and/or client/vendor information in a confidential manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant writing and foundation relations, with a strong preference for nonprofit sector experience and a track record of securing significant funding.

Compensation:

  • $60,000 - $70,000 annually
