RN - part-time; Family Planning Dept

Position: RN - part-time (Family Planning Dept.)
Job Summary:

The Community Health Center of Buffalo (CHCB) is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Family Planning Department. The RN will deliver nursing care under the supervision of the Family Planning Medical Provider.

Responsibilities:

* Provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants.

* Triage patient phone calls and visits.

* Offer case management and care to patients requiring nurse-only visits.

* Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.

* Assist Medical Providers with examinations and procedures.

* Perform routine diagnostic tests and collect/process specimens.

* Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers.

* Review lab results and report abnormal findings.

* Manage supplies for patient rooms and participate in quality improvement activities.

* Communicate effectively with patients and staff.

* Maintain the integrity of medical records and provide patient education.

Qualifications:

* Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.

* Associates or Bachelors Degree in Nursing.

* Minimum of one year experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting.

* Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.

* Bachelors Degree in Nursing.

* Three years of experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting.

* Experience with an Electronic Medical Record System.

* Experience working in Family Planning is a plus.

Physical Demands:

This role requires periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Some evening work may be required.

Salary Range: $32.87/hr.

- $39.68/hr.
