Job OverviewAs a Clinical Resource Coordinator, you serve as an expert practitioner, collaborator, consultant, educator, clinician, researcher, and change agent. You function across the continuum of care to positively influence the quality and delivery of patient care.
ResponsibilitiesYou collaborate with nursing staff in planning and delivering patient care for age- and need- specific patient populations. You evaluate and address the educational needs of patients, families, and nursing staff. You consult with nursing staff and physicians on patient-related problems, providing recommendations and assisting in their resolution. You propose changes to standards to evaluate nursing care effectiveness and introduce innovative nursing practices and techniques.
QualificationsEducation
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program (BSN; MSN preferred)
- Current RN licensure in New York State
- Minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience
- Certification in a related specialty obtained within one year
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Interpersonal skills to work productively with all levels of unit personnel, physicians, families, visitors, and to manage activities of a diverse group of professionals, nonprofessionals, and clerical employees
- Active listening skills
- Planning skills to develop goals and objectives in concert with hospital aims and implementing action plans to achieve them
- Analytical ability to identify opportunities for improvement and solve problems effectively
- Teaching abilities to promote orientation and continuing education of staff
- Current knowledge of health care trends and issues, and ability to relate them to the hospital and work environment
- Practice principal clinical responsibilities appropriate to patient age and condition, as specified in general nursing care competencies and unit-specific competencies
- In-depth knowledge of change theory and ability to guide the change process
